Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – June 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

So what’s in the box?

This month doesn’t really have a “theme” per se, however it does seem to be more focused on the idea of “summer  laid-back” vibes that come with the season. Less is more in Summer, I mean who wants to put on foundation, concealer and powder when its 30 degrees out? So there’s a big focus on nailing down a great skin care regime which as we all know is the base to feeling your best in the summer. We have a great box this month with 6 products to try out, including two full-sized.

So let’s have a look shall we?

The Hero Project Instant Moisture Boost

hyasoft-tube

This is a fabulous gel moisturizer for all my oily gals out there who are a little shy on the traditional moisturiser creams. The Hero Project is a British beauty brand which focuses its attention on those must have skin care products you can’t go without, which delivers both an amazing moisturiser and is packed with skin loving ingredients such as hylauronic acid and B5. This is best to add to the skin before your normal moisturiser to bring it back to life, which is especially good in the summer months where air conditioning and the warmer weather can dry out your skin.  The Hero Project is also cruelty free, and its packaging is all recyclable – woohoo!

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo.

thumbnail_Glo_Illuminator_large

Hhmmm.. Ok, I love highlight, y’all know that. Highlighter for me is my ultimate beauty must have and nothing makes me feel better than highlighting my cheekbones like a glazed donut. This however, isn’t glowy enough for me. It’s best mixed into your foundation for a dewy finish or to use as “glue” to keep your highlight popping, however on its own, not a fan. Its far too liquid for me and just disappears when your apply to the skin, so its more of an addition to my highlight routine than an actual highlight or glow in itself.  It does get bonus points for being cruelty free and comes in one universal shade for all skin types.

Batiste Stylist Frizz no more Frizz Tamer.

image

IMG_20170609_192521_923

So I got my hair cut last week and have been regretting it ever since – nothing to do with the hairdresser, she was the bomb, I just forgot how much more maintenance your hair needs when its cut short, and my hair is super fine and there is a lot of it, so it frizzes up like nobody’s business. This hair spray was a welcome treat for me, as it helps to keep the frizz at bay and helps keep my style resistant to humidity and it’s enriched with keratin which is always a good thing for my hair type! Batiste prides itself on being a crueltyfree personal brand that cares about the well-being of both humans and animals. Batiste Stylist is not suitable for Vegans as it uses Keratin, which is derived from sheep’s wool. No! Batiste doesn’t support testing on animals.

111Skin Space Defense Bright Eye lift Gel

Space-Defence-Bright-Eye-Lift-Gel-Bottle

This is one of the best eye products I have ever used. I have HUGE dark circles under my eyes regardless of the sleep I get, to the point I have considered getting fillers under my eyes. I have this in a full size from a christmas gift and I love it, it changed my life. It reduces puffiness, dark circles, reduces the appearance of lines (which at 30 I am starting to think about) and keeps your eye area super hydrated. Plus this skin care range evolved from products used in space, and I am all about that.

Sleek Makeup Power Plump Lip Crayon

Sleek-Power-Plump-Lip-Crayons-1

Ugh this lip colour is so darn perfect. It’s a gorgeous coral colour and glides on smoothly, is super pigmented and has super staying power. It wasnt until I put it on and my lips started to tingle I realised it was a lip plumping crayon – I thought I was having some sort of allergic reaction! But I love the effect of these lip plumping products – I have a slimmer top lip so its nice to balance it out a bit! Sleek are a brand I adore, and are cruelty free which I love. #crueltyfreekisses.

Beautypro Black Diamond peel off mask.

beautypro-peel-off-charcoal-mask-black-diamond

I have been wanting to try one of these peel off charcoal masks forever! This was the first product in this month’s box that I tried, and it was…..ok. I mean, don’t get me wrong as soon as I put it on, you could feel the active charcoal working and it was super satisfying peeling it off, but it didn’t seem to pull as much out of my face as I wanted. If anything it pulled off all my peach fuzz (not a bad thing) and my skin on the whole felt super smooth, but I can still see all my blackheads. Maybe that’s how they get you? Really loved it and I love a face mask, but it wasnt quite as good as I wanted. A big thumbs up for being cruelty free though!

So all in all, this month’s box was ok. It wasnt overwhelming, but there’s nothing in here I wouldn’t use. Everything in this box is once again cruelty free which I love, but I would have liked more make up products. However great skin care is the base for great skin confidence so all of these products are welcome in my bathroom.

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website www.glossybox.co.uk and sign up for 50% off the July Edit. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time, have a great summer!

Lavera | Natural, Organic and Vegan Beauty Products

I have been in contact with Ingrid Hume from Pravera for a while now and she has kindly sent out some high-quality and beautiful natural products to me. You may have previously read my post on Benecos Cosmetics (if not, click here) where I gave them a glowing review. Now it’s the turn of the brand Lavera – a natural, organic and vegan beauty brand.

I created the look pictured below, using the products I was sent. Here’s a run down of everything I used and how I used it.

20170529_123819

Lavera Illuminating Eyeshadow Quattro Indian Dream 03 – 4 x 0.5g

This eyeshadow quad is just STUNNING. My mind went into overdrive when thinking of all the looks I could create using just these four colours. I love the mix or peachy pinks and golds with khaki greens. They just match beautifully. I’m really into khaki eye makeup at the moment, so was very excited to try this out.

Here I created a very simple look using the mini palette. I used my Benecos single eyeshadow in Mauve in the crease, as I like to use matte shades there. I then used the pink colour over three quarters of my lid, starting from the inner corner. On the outer corner I used the peachy/gold tone. Along the lower last line I used a tiny amount of both of the green/gold colours.

Lavera Mineral Sun Glow Powder Duo – Golden Sahara 01 – 9g

This bronzer has a beautiful texture and consistency and blends like a dream. The colour is very buildable and I would say it looks much darker in the pan than it actually is. You can use the colours singly, or swirl them together with a brush. I mix them together as I find this to be the perfect match for my skin tone. I applied the bronzer just below the cheek bones, around the forehead and perimeter of my face. I love how glowy it made me look!

Lavera Organic Highlighter 4g – 03 Golden Shine

Wow, this little highlighter really packs a big punch! It is a cream product, so is best used before a powder. I have particularly enjoyed this on no-foundation days as it gives me maximum glow without all the other products. It’s been brilliant on these hot days we’ve been having. I applied the highlighter to the usual places where a glow is very welcome – cheekbones, bridge and end of nose, Cupid’s bow and brow bone.

Lavera So Fresh Rouge Powder – Plum Blossom 02

Sorry guys, but here’s another product I just LOVE! I really don’t have anything negative to say about any of the Lavera products I’ve tried. This blush is pigmented, creamy, buildable and easy to blend out. It looks just stunning on the cheeks for that ‘glowing from within’ look. It is a plum toned powder, with a shimmer. I applied this to the apples of my cheeks.

I’m so pleased with how these products transferred onto my face. They have brilliant staying power too – I’ve even been for a run this evening and the eyeshadows haven’t creased! These are lovingly made, high-quality beauty items. I’m excited to try more from the range. Lavera also have skin, bath, baby, men’s, dental and other products to name just a few. Definitely check them out on Pravera here.

What do you think of my finished look?

xoBeauty Matte Lipstick in Philocaly

When I watched Shaaanxo’s new makeup line announcement video last week, I was so excited by the beautiful colours and quality of both her liquid and regular lipsticks. I was especially excited by the matte lipstick in the shade ‘Philocaly‘ and settled on just this one. It arrived today – just a week after it was posted from New Zealand!

Shaaanxo is by far my favourite YouTube Beauty Guru. I first discovered her when scouring the web for a wedding makeup tutorial. I actually used her one for my own wedding makeup (yes I was brave enough and mad enough to do my own makeup!). She always manages to achieve pure magic with any eyeshadow and her makeup tips are useful and achievable.  I was extremely excited to see that she’d actually signed the card that came with the lipstick too – I had a extreme fan-girl moment when I saw it!

The lipstick came packaged in a cute white box with grey polka dots on it. Inside, the tube of the lipstick has a chrome/mirror effect which is just so classy and pretty. The lid clicks into place over the lipstick, so there’s no need to worry about it coming off in your handbag.

I did a swatch of the lipstick on my arm first and it swatched beautifully. It has a very creamy texture which glides onto the skin. The colour looks even more beautiful in real life and I think I picked well for my skin tone. It is a stunning pinky nude – my fave!

Swatch – xoBeauty Matte Lipstick in Philocaly

When I put it onto my lips, I was first impressed by the gorgeous smell of crème brûlée – don’t worry if you don’t like strong smells in your makeup, this is a beautifully subtle scent. The lipstick went smoothly onto my lips and didn’t cling to patches as matte lipsticks have a habit of doing. It feels very nourishing on the lips too. I’ve had it on all day and my skin doesn’t feel dried out at all. It also really stayed put! There was very little transfer when kissing Baby J and the hubby and it stayed on very well during meals.

Overall, I’m very happy with this lipstick. I’m so pleased that it has been lovingly designed and created by a brilliant YouTuber, who has worked hard to get to this stage. You could tell from her announcement video how much this collection really meant to her. Philocaly also really reminds me of MAC’s Brave in colour – but I actually prefer this formula! It has better staying power and is much easier to apply.

Dollibox | May 2017

Dollibox is a beauty subscription box, delivered monthly. I received the May box and here’s what I got inside –

The box costs £10 a month, for five full-sized or deluxe sized products. The box gives you the opportunity to try well-known brands, up and coming niche brands and also cult classics. To subscribe for yourself, click here.

Here’s the low-down on May’s box.

Seacret Makeup Remover Wipes

I don’t tend to use makeup remover wipes because of their negative environmental impact, but like to have a pack in my drawer in case I need to have a quick clean up (great for late nights!). These wipes are absolutely brilliant at removing ALL of my makeup. They are oil-based so even take off my very stubborn waterproof mascaras with ease. They also leave my skin feeling beautifully soft. I’d never heard of this brand before this box, but I will be taking a look at their other products for sure!

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Protein Pack

Palmer’s are one of those brands that you can trust. I have owned quite a lot of their produts over the years and have always found them a failsafe in repairing damaged skin and hair. I haven’t used this hair conditoning pack yet as I’m saving it for an evening of pampering, but I’m sure it will do wonders for my currently very dry hair!

Cougar Rich Honey Moisturiser

I love this moisturiser! I started using it straight away, as the moisturiser I was using wasn’t doing anything special for my skin. This one contains pure natural honey and banana extract. I can’t stand the smell of bananas and thankfully, this cream doesn’t smell like them! It contains many vitamins and minerals and the honey is a natural antiseptic – great for helping to heal minor skin irritations and blemishes without drying you out. I highly recommend this product.

Leopard Cat Eyebrow Palette

The packaging for this is just perfect – gold and a leopard with leopard print details! It is a cute size too, perfect for on-the-go. Inside are two eyebrow powders and a mini angled brush for application.

Focallure Face Blush

I can’t stop wearing this blush! It is so pigmented and easy to blend out on the cheeks. The colour is gorgeous too and very buildable. There are 11 shades available in this range of blushes and I received the pinky coral one. It gives my face a lovely, Spring-time glow which I’m just addicted to.

Deborella Mermaid Necklace

Last, but not least, is this AMAZING ‘Mermaid Life’ necklace from Deborella Accessories. This was an exclusive product in Dollibox this month. Deborella are a new company who produce mainly lasercut jewellery and stationery. Make sure to have a look at their website – there are just so many beautiful products to choose from, I want it all!

I am very impressed with Dollibox and have enjoyed trying out the products and reviewing them for you. To subscribe for yourself, click here.

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – May 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

So what’s in the box?

This month we are going back to basics and GlossyHQ has cultivated a box which focused on the beauty staples we love and the ones we didn’t know we loved. Everyone has those beauty must haves that you can’t do without – for me, that would be a good body salt scrub and a kick ass concealer – and they’re the ones that just call to you.

With this in mind, GB focused their attention on ensuring we received an edit of five basics that everyone should own, namely because once you’ve got those sorted, everything else will follow effortlessly. It like building a house – once you have good foundations in place, everything else just fits.
So without further ado, here’s a peek inside the box…

Dr Pawpaw Balm – Original

IMAG1070

I adore multi purpose balms like these. It’s a one fits all balm which you can use for anything:

  • Flyaway hairs – PawPaw balm
  • Dry skin – PawPaw balm
  • Chapped Lips – Pawpaw balm
  • Cracked hands and heels – Pawpaw balm
  • Broken Heart – Pawpaw Balm (you get the idea)

Its derived from gorgeous natural ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Papaya and olive oil. It’s a really lovely non-sticky formula that melts into the skin – a handbag must have if you ask me. Plus it is cruelty free. YAY FOR BUNNIES!

Caudalie Vinosorce Moisturising Sorbet

IMAG1071

I really love Caudalie, they’re a great brand whose moisturizers are great on my skin. This sorbet is no exception. It’s a lovely gel moisturizer which is great for oily combination skin like mine and is packed full of skin soothing ingredients like chamomile and grape water. Super lightweight but very moisturizing, a great addition to my spring time routine.  My only issue with this product is it isn’t cruelty free. Sad Face.

Scrub Love Active Charcoal Body Scrub

IMAG1074

A word of warning with this one – don’t use it in a freshly cleaned bathroom as you’ll need to clean every surface it touches afterwards!

I love body scrubs. nothing feels better to me than getting a handful of super gritty scrub and rubbing into my tired skin, it just makes me feel so much more refreshed and revitalized, and this is no exception. This scrub is formulated with Aloe Vera oils, Clays and active charcoal to cleanse and soothe the skin and leave you feeling gorgeously polished and clean! We got a huge pouch of the stuff too, so plenty to go around. A Huge win for me and probably my favorite product in this box.  An organic, fair trade, Rain forest-Alliance Approved, cruelty free ethically sourced coffee-scrub skin care company proudly made in the UK – HUZZAH!

Andmetics Brow Wax Strips

IMAG1069

I am not a huge fan of these personally, mainly because I’ve had some bad experiences in the past where I’ve ended up taking off more brow than I realized, (can we all take a moment and thank the beauty goddesses for brow pencils, pomade and gel) or the strips haven’t taken any hairs at all. These however were so easy to use, had real sticky power and are shaped to fit my brows (almost) perfectly, I did trim them slightly to ensure a better fit. My brow game for May is super strong now. I couldn’t find any information about the company being cruelty free so I suspect not.

RUBY Super Silky Powder Blush

This was a welcome addition for me as I adore coral blushes, and I already own a couple of RUBY blushes. This color went so well with my snow-white complexion, and I suspect will look even better with a tan – which by the looks of the weather at the moment isn’t going to be any time soon! A gorgeous consistency and huge color payoff, so you only need a little on your brush to give your cheeks that lil *pop* of co lour.  Another cruelty free brand too – yippee!

I am really happy with this month’s box. Another great edit full of things I will definitely use over the next few weeks – especially the scrub and the blusher. I’ll probably buy more scrub too because it made my skin feel so incredibly smooth and silky – not that these pins are going to see the light of day any time soon – ah the great british weather. Theres nothing in here I wouldn’t use, however unlike last month this box isn’t 100% cruelty free.

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website www.glossybox.co.uk and sign up for 50% off the May Edit. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time, have an aMAYzing month!

Favourites | April 2017

Hello and welcome to a new series on my blog! Here I will be rounding up my monthly favourites from the previous month. April was a busy one for me in terms of trying out new products – I received some new things for my birthday and was also sent a few little PR packages. I hope you enjoy this roundup – let me know your favourites from April too – I love discovering new things!

BH Cosmetics Shaaanxo 18 Colour Eyeshadow and Lipstick Palette

My husband bought me this beautiful eyeshadow and lipstick combo palette from BH Cosmetics and Shaaanxo. Shaaanxo is one of my favourite beauty gurus from YouTube and if you haven’t already, you should definitely check her out – her tutorials are incredible!

The palette contains 9 eyeshadows (3 matte and 6 shimmer) and 9 stunning lipstick colours. I am just in love with this palette – it’s perfect for everyday wear and the pigmentation on the shadows is incredible. The palette is an amazing price on BeautyBay.com too – just £18.00 with free delivery. I highly recommend this one. You can buy your own here.

100% Natural Australian Jojoba Oil

This was another birthday gift from my lovely husband. I had been after some of this oil for a while as I heard that it does wonderful things for your skin. As the only plant in the world known to produce a wax similar to our own skin’s sebum, it is able to penetrate deep into the skin.  It also contains powerful antioxidants, Omega 6 & 9 essential fatty acids, and Vitamin A, D and E. I use it on my face every other evening and I can’t believe the effect is has had already, in just a matter of weeks. It has reduced redness on my cheeks, I have had less breakouts on my chin and forehead and my skin is just amazingly smooth and soft. I’m so impressed! I know that my husband purchased this from Holland and Barrett, but you can pick one up online here.

SEVENTEEN Falsifeye HD Mascara

As I am currently on unpaid maternity leave, money is pretty much non-existent. So when I ran out of mascara, I desperately searched the web for a good and cheaper alternative. I came across a few reviews of this SEVENTEEN Falsifeye HD mascara and I have to agree with the good ratings. I have very short and stumpy lashes, so I’m always looking for a mascara that will add length to the lashes, without weighing them down. This one separates my lashes and makes them extra long. I’ll use it in a tutorial soon! You can buy yours here.

I Heart Makeup Blushing Hearts – Goddess of Love Highlighter

I cannot stop wearing this highlighter. It is so beautiful. It’s gold with a peachy/pink reflect. It is very pigmented and a little goes a long way. You get 10g of product, which will last you a long time. Once again, this product is available at my favourite beauty website – TAM Beauty here. You can also purchase it at Superdrug.

Makeup Revolution Duo Brow Pencil Light Brown

I always prefer to draw on my eyebrows with a pencil and was excited to try this Makeup Revolution one. I got it in the shade light brown, which is actually a perfect match for me. I really like that it has a little spooly brush on the end. It’s always good to start your eyebrow routine the right way by brushing your brows into place. Once again, this pencil has excellent pigmentation and very little product is needed on each eyebrow. Buy yours here.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit – Ultra Fair C01

Oh my goodness, this little kit is fantastic! It is just £3 and for this you get a lot of pigment for your money! The kit contains a bronzer, highlighter and blush. I originally bought this for the blush, which is pink with a stunning peach reflect. It really warms up the skin and gives a healthy glow. However, I have also been reaching for the bronzer everyday as it’s a gorgeous tone on my skin. And now for the highlighter… It’s blinding! I think it is actually one of the most pigmented and stunning highlighters in my whole collection (and I own a lot of them!). Buy yours here

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Lipstick Vow

These new lipsticks from Makeup Revolution really remind me of the Charlotte Tilbury ones, but are a fraction of the price at £4. They are velvety soft and glide onto the lips. I have it in the shade Vow, which is a brown nude. This is very long wearing and I find it to be nourishing on my lips. I’m hoping to buy a couple more shades from the range in the future. Buy yours here.

Oh K! Sweet Peach Detangle BrushOh K! Sweet Peach Detangle Brush

This cute little detangling brush was from my sister, on my birthday. It smells like peaches! It is so adorable and just shows how well my sister really knows me – I love anything with a cute, happy face on it! It also does a good job of detangling my crazy hair too. I love it!  Buy one for yourself here.

YiLiANGA Anti-Freckle Essence BB cream

As you’ll probably know by now, I’ve recently got into Korean beauty. This was thanks to my friends at Beaut East Sphere and awesome websites like YesStyle.com (you can read about my haul here). Every now and then something catches my eye on the Wish app and I just have to give it a go – for the sake of the blog of course! I was drawn to this YiLiANGA BB Cream  because I have seen other BB creams from Korea which give the wearer enviable dewy skin, with light, airy coverage (I also ADORE the packaging!).

I ordered the product in the shade 1 – Light. This was too light for my skin tone to be honest and I looked like the walking dead when I put it on (pictures coming your way!). It comes in a very pretty lilac pink pot with a lid. The product is solid inside and it comes with a puff for application. I can’t stand a puff, so I used my brush one day and my beauty sponge another day.

The product was much more high coverage than I expected. I always imagine BB Creams to be light on the skin and for some imperfections to still show through. Once the product is broken down onto a brush/blender, it does move around on the skin quite easily.

To test the product I decided to prime my face beforehand. I then wet my beauty blender with my fixing spray and applied the BB Cream onto my face by dabbing with my sponge. It went on easily enough, but was quite patchy in places – for example around my nose. It also clung to any dry patches on my skin – so attractive.

In the photo below, I have applied the product to half my face. as you can see, the coverage is pretty full on and has covered up my redness well.

This is my ‘On the verge of getting a cold’ face

I applied the cream to the rest of my face and carried out my makeup routine as normal – setting my face with a powder, bronzing, adding blush and highlighting. I then sprayed with my setting spray. To be honest, before I’d even added the blusher, the BB cream was starting to separate on my skin in front of my eyes, especially on my nose. It felt incredibly drying too. I know that with a BB Cream you wouldn’t normally add all the extra product over the top, but I really don’t see this product as a cream, it is definitely more of a foundation.

Here’s a close-up of my skin after I finished my whole face –

As you can see, it made my skin look very dry and had a kind of ‘mottled’ look about it. It just felt incredibly uncomfortable on my skin. I didn’t take it off however, as I wanted to see how it lasted on my skin throughout the day.

It is now 7.45pm and I got home from a very sweaty run about half an hour ago. Looking in the mirror, the makeup really hasn’t moved at all. The texture still looks horrible, but the coverage is still there and you wouldn’t know that I’d been close to death only 30 minutes ago. It actually looks exactly the same as it did this morning when I applied it (photo above).

I think this product cost me around £3-4 and I will be using it again. I actually want to try it on a Summer’s day, with no other makeup on top. I also want to wait until my skin is feeling moisturised again, because at the moment it is dehydrated. We’ll see what the future holds for YiLiANGA Anti-Freckle Essence BB cream…

For now, it does look beautiful on display in my beauty area!

Makeup Revolution Renaissance Palette Night | Review, Tutorial and Swatches

Makeup Revolution released the beautiful Renaissance palettes last week, including this Night version, a Day one and a glow palette. The Day palette contains all matte shades and the Night one a mixture of one matte and four shimmer shades.

This palette came beautifully packaged in a gorgeous black box with rose gold decoration. The palette was inside a gorgeously soft pouch inside the box, which adds an extra element of luxury. The palette itself has a matte black case and a beautiful rose gold clasp, which I’ve never seen on a palette before.

Inside the case lid is a mirror – I love Makeup Revolution for this – and a double-ended brush. The shades themselves are beautiful. The matte colour is a white, perfect for highlighting the brow bone, as I did today. The pink and bronze tones are intensely shimmery and pigmented. The final two shades have reflective glitters in them and are stunning.

I created an eye look today using a majority of the shades in the palette –

  • Use the matte white to highlight the centre of the brow bone
  • The lighter brown on the outer V and slightly into the crease, also along the lower lash line
  • The copper tone over the rest of the lid and along the inner part of the lower lash line
  • The light pink on inner corners as a highlight

The shades in the palette are very easy to work with and blend. I experienced little to no fall out. The shadows are of a very high quality.

Overall, I’m very pleased with this palette. The packaging is stunning and compact enough to travel with. I also think this palette would make a brilliant gift.

YesStyle Korean Beauty Haul | With My Honest Opinions

I received some money for my birthday last month, so decided to put in my first order with YesStyle.com. I had been doing my research on Korean beauty products by watching some YouTube reviews – especially those by Shaaanxo – and had some products in mind for purchase. YesStyle provide Asian products ranging from fashion, lifestyle, and beauty and ship them worldwide. I focussed all of my attention on the beauty section of the site (of course!) and here’s what I bought –

Etude House Collagen Eye Patch – £2.01

I have previously written a post about Etude House (when I really had no clue about Korean beauty!) and their peel off eyebrow tint – which I really loved. I was excited to give these eye patches by the same brand a go. I have noticed a lot of creasing under my eyes recently and as well as being old age, I also put it down to dehydration. I wasn’t drinking enough water and found it to be affecting my skin. I wanted to give these a go to see if they could rehydrate the area under my eyes and make me feel bright and fresh again (and not old).

My under eye area felt much more plump after use and the creasing was a lot less apparent for a few days. I have been drinking a lot more water now to try and keep the effect that the eye patches left going for a bit longer.

Secret Key Snow White Cream 50ml – £7.45

The Secret Key Snow White Cream has a pearl and vitamin formula which helps to brighten up the complexion on the face. It isn’t moisturising enough on its own, so I’ve been using it over my usual daily moisturiser. It actually acts as a brilliant primer too! I do have some redness on my cheeks and have found that this cream does reduce the redness slightly. It doesn’t wow me, but it does feel nice on the skin. I have also worn it alone on no-foundation days.

BEAUTY PEOPLE – Miss 100 Super Waterproof Gel Eyeliner – £3.71

Ahhhh this product was so disappointing! I really wanted a bright shade to go in my waterline as it opens up your eyes and makes them look generally brighter and more awake. I also loved the packaging for this liner with the punk looking Snow White on the lid.

It swatches beautifully and I loved the colour – Glimmer Coral. However, when I try to apply this to my waterline or over my eyelid, nothing comes out! The formulation seems to be so waterproof that it won’t release any product unless you press very hard – something I’m definitely not going to do on my eye area. Am I doing something wrong? Please let me know if I am, or any other tips would be much appreciated!

Tony Moly Perfect Eyes Long Kinny Mascara – £6.87

Tony Moly is an extremely popular Korean beauty brand and I just love the products! The packaging on many of the items is adorable (just you wait for my final item!) and the prices are pretty good too. They are also cruelty free – a lovely bonus. This is a teeny tiny mascara, perfect for your bottom eyelashes and for getting right to the root of your top lashes. It does what it says on the tin (or box in this case).

Tony Moly I’m Real Mask Sheet – £2.28

Ever since meeting my friends at Beaut East Sphere and trying out their Polatam sheet masks for the first time, I’ve been hooked! Sheet masks are just amazing, easy to use and so nourishing on the skin. I always apply them before bed and my skin is glowing by the morning. This one from Tony Moly was no exception – my skin felt amazing after use and was sparkling for days. It was super hydrating too.

The cat ears headband is from Etude House by the way!

A’PIEUMineral Mono Shadow Matt (Rilakkuma Edition) – £3.64

I love Rilakkuma! He is a little bear created by the Japanese company San-X. I saw this solo eyeshadow in such a gorgeous, crease perfect shade and just had to snap it up. I really like the fact that he is also pressed into the powder too, although this does make me sad to use it!

Tony MolyPokemon Mini Cover Cushion SPF50+ PA+++ 9g – £8.22

OK, those of you who are close to me will know of my extremely geeky obsession with Pokemon. I have always loved them and have a very large collection of trading cards. I’m not ashamed to admit it! When I saw that Tony Moly have a whole range of Pokemon beauty items, I was very excited. I chose the Pikachu cushion BB cream, as Pikachu has to be my favourite.

This foundation comes in an amazing compact, with a mirror in the lid. The first section holds a little pad for application which is decorated like a Pokeball – how cute is that?

Under the next flap is the cushion itself, which holds the product. I’ve heard brilliant things about cushion foundations – you only use the amount of product you need, so nothing gets wasted. It is also very buildable. This BB cream/foundation is light coverage, but is also buildable. It gives the skin a lovely, glowy finish and is going to be perfect in the summer when I want something less cakey. I’m thinking of doing a separate review of this – let me know what you think.

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with my YesStyle haul. I did also purchase the cat ears headband by Etude House which you can find here. I got free delivery with my order which, once shipped, came very quickly. I also received a free gift which was a small bottle of O Hui Baby Collagen Softening Milk – another lovely skin treatment. A couple of products didn’t blow me away unfortunately, like the eyeliner. I’m hoping I can find another use for that one.

Well that concludes my Korean Haul! I hope you enjoyed it. Have you purchased any Korean products recently?
