Itsy Nails London were kind enough to send me four of their DuraPRO Gel Effect polishes to try last week. Itsy Nails are a cruelty free, vegan friendly brand with an amazing collection of beautifully coloured and high quality nail polishes.
The polishes themselves are very inexpensive at only £5.99 and for this you get a long-wearing, gel effect varnish which packs a colour punch! All of the colours in the gel effect range are unique and stunning for any occasion. You can view them all and buy online here.
Below are the four polishes I received and how they look after two coats on my thumbnail. I’m currently rocking the pink shade on all my nails and so far, I’m chip-free!
Makeup Revolution released the beautiful Renaissance palettes last week, including this Night version, a Day one and a glow palette. The Day palette contains all matte shades and the Night one a mixture of one matte and four shimmer shades.
This palette came beautifully packaged in a gorgeous black box with rose gold decoration. The palette was inside a gorgeously soft pouch inside the box, which adds an extra element of luxury. The palette itself has a matte black case and a beautiful rose gold clasp, which I’ve never seen on a palette before.
Inside the case lid is a mirror – I love Makeup Revolution for this – and a double-ended brush. The shades themselves are beautiful. The matte colour is a white, perfect for highlighting the brow bone, as I did today. The pink and bronze tones are intensely shimmery and pigmented. The final two shades have reflective glitters in them and are stunning.
I created an eye look today using a majority of the shades in the palette –
Use the matte white to highlight the centre of the brow bone
The lighter brown on the outer V and slightly into the crease, also along the lower lash line
The copper tone over the rest of the lid and along the inner part of the lower lash line
The light pink on inner corners as a highlight
The shades in the palette are very easy to work with and blend. I experienced little to no fall out. The shadows are of a very high quality.
Overall, I’m very pleased with this palette. The packaging is stunning and compact enough to travel with. I also think this palette would make a brilliant gift.
Today I will be showing you how to create a Sunset Eyeshadow look with this beautiful Glitz Cosmetics 12P palette from Belle’s Beauty. This is my second post about the gorgeous palettes from Belle’s Beauty and you can read my first post here.
Once again, we have another top-quality, stunning 12 colour eyeshadow palette. This one features 6 matte and 6 shimmer shades – all bright and bold!
I have swatched all the shades from left to right, starting on the top row.
As the weather is getting progressively warmer and more sunny, I thought it was only appropriate to create an eyeshadow look that reflects a sunset. Please let me know if you have a go at this – I’d love to see what you achieve – I may even feature your photos on the blog!
Step 1 – Apply the pink shade along the lashline and blend around halfway up the eyelid
Step 2 – Take the muted orange shade just above the pink and blend up into the lower part of the crease
Step 3 – Now take the bolder orange shade and emphasise the outer crease and eyelid with it. Use a fluffy brush to blend out any harsh lines. Don’t worry if it looks messy at this point – stick with it as you’ll tidy it up at the end
Step 4 – Use the yellow shade above all the previous colours and on the brow bone. Be quite light-handed with this colour, you want it to be subtle
Step 5 – Tidy under the eyebrow using a small brush and the white shade
Step 6 – To create an ‘ocean’ effect use the blue, teal and purple along your lower lash line. I did this in sections and blended them at the edges for an ombre effect
The colours in this palette are super pigmented and were just so perfect for this eye look. They blend so beautifully too which means the ombre effect needed was easy to achieve. This look is just perfect for Summer – whether that be on holiday, evenings out or festivals. I can’t wait to recreate it again using other colours from the palette. I also think it would look great with black winged eyeliner – or even gold!

Makeup Revolution’s sister brand I Heart Makeup, have just launched this beauty. It’s the Unicorn Love palette and oh my gosh, it has a furry outer case!
Inside you get 16 matte and shimmer shades all with elements of fantasy and unicorn. Each shade has a fairytale name, for example – Fortune, Magic, Wings, Sparkle (my personal favourite name for obvious reasons!). There is a lovely range of shades – not as wild as I’d have expected from a palette named after creatures of the rainbow – but they are subtly beautiful. There are some perfect crease and transition colours, some beautiful, glittery brights and some all-round stunning shimmery shades.
You also receive a double-ended sponge applicator. I would’ve preferred a brush as I find sponge applicators to be the most useless makeup tools known to man – why oh why? There is a large and extremely useful mirror which spans across the whole inner casing lid and doesn’t distort you like something from the House of Mirrors.
I have swatched all of the shades for you below – I took one photo with the flash on and one without. I swatched from left to right, starting on the top row.
The shades I am particularly impressed with are –
Flutter – a beautiful peachy shade
Fortune and Gallop – both orangey/pinky browns one is shimmer, one is matte
Story – Gold and so sparkly – just stunning!
Wings – The perfect neutral brown crease shade
Love – a gorgeous champagne gold and white
I created this look with the palette, here’s how –
All over the lid, use Pure to set your primer and create a smooth base
In the crease, use Flutter
On the outer crease, use Wings to add more definition
To create a Halo Eye look, use Fortune on the inner and outer corners and then blend them together along the crease so that they meet there in the middle
Use Fortune again along the lower lash line
To darken up the edge of the outer corner, use Gallop and blend out
Using your finger, put Story in the middle of your eyelid and the middle of your lower lash line – this really adds to the Wow Effect!
As you can probably tell, I am a little bit in love with this palette. I love the range of shades to suit all skin tones and eye colours. There are endless looks to be created with it. The colour pay off and pigmentation is fantastic – particularly in the shimmer shades like Story. I’m wearing this eye look now and it hasn’t moved all day. I do use an eye primer, but it hasn’t dropped down below my eyes or moved into my crease. I am very impressed for a palette that costs only £7.99.
You can purchase this palette from TAMbeauty, but be quick as it does keep going out of stock very quickly! As I write this, there is only 1 left! Here’s the link to buy – Unicorn Love Palette.
The rose gold packaging for this highlighter is absolutely stunning. It is a large compact and you get 14g of highlighting powder for only £5 which is excellent value for money. There is also a huge mirror inside – handy for on the go!
The look and feel of these highlighters really remind me of the Jeffree Star Skin Frost ones (but I feel these are a much classier version!).
In the pan, the powder has a white glow but in the light it has a gold reflect. These highlighters have been designed for the body as well as the face (hence the reason why you get so much product) and this particular shade would look gorgeous along the collar bone on an evening out. I applied it to the cheekbones and nose today and I’m so pleased with how it looks.
The powder is very buildable and can also be applied with a wet brush for a more intense glow.
You can buy your own Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Highlighter here. There are four shades currently available – Ice Kiss, Peach Kiss, Golden Kiss and Bronze Kiss.
This beautiful eyeshadow palette has been surrounded by a lot of controversy over the last week, when Kat Von D herself posted a very angry Instagram photo calling out Makeup Revolution for completely copying her Shade & Light palette. The whole reason I wanted this palette for myself was because of the fact it was such an incredible dupe of the ridiculously overpriced original. Of course the quality will be better, but I really can’t justify spending £37 on an eyeshadow palette.
I had been after this palette a while and it had been out of stock on TAMbeauty. I was so happy to find in in my local Superdrug however, and have been putting it to the test ever since! I have to say that I absolutely love this palette. It was a brilliant £8 and there are so many neutral looks to be created with it. The palette is split into three quads of complementary neutrals.
I had a go at putting together a look for you to try – let me know if you give it a go!Firstly, set your primer/concealer with the light shade all over the lid up to the brow bone
Next, I added this very light, almost peachy shade along my crease
This brick red shade was placed on my outer corner and along my lower lash line
I then placed this light brown all over my lid and stopped below my crease
Finally, I used a darker brown as a kind of eyeliner along my upper lash line
This is a very subtle look, suitable for everyday wear.
The palette is still sold out on TAMbeauty, but you can purchase it online at Superdrug (with free delivery!) here.
I’ve seen a few comments online about these new lip kits by Barry M and was intrigued enough to give them a go. Lip kits have been made popular by, you guessed it, Kylie Jenner (does that girl influence everything we do now?!) and there have been a few, more affordable dupes appearing recently.
Last month I reviewed the Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kit in Echelon and thought it was pretty good. However, the more I’ve worn it, the more I’ve disliked it. The formula is pretty terrible. Don’t get me wrong, I love the colour and the lip pencil, but the liquid lipstick itself goes very tacky and grainy and never seems to fully dry. I watched a YouTube video the other day and it was said that these lip kits by Barry M are much, much better and I just had to see for myself!
Inside the kit you get a lip pencil and a liquid lipstick.
The lip pencil is amazingly creamy and easy to apply. The colour is quite different to the liquid lipstick, so I wouldn’t recommend using it to over-line your lips. I used it under the lipstick itself to increase the wear time.
I love the liquid lipstick colour so much! It takes a while to dry and is very runny (be careful! I spilt the tester version all over the floor in my local Boots! 🙈) but once it dries it is beautiful!
This formula really lasts too! It stays on all day and is just so smooth looking. I’m so impressed. This is my favourite lip kit so far – I’d say even better than the Kylie ones!
They are also a fraction of the price of the Kylie kits at only £6.99. There are currently three shades, but Barry M do also sell matte liquid lipsticks on their own and there are quite a few shades available. To buy your own kit from Boots, click here.
The eyeshadows are inside a gorgeous matte gold case – it’s a good travel size and has a massive and very handy mirror inside. There are 30 shades inside the palette – a combination of mattes, shimmers and sheens. You also get a good double ended brush.
One of the most amazing things about this palette is the price. It’s £9.99 and is probably the only palette you’ll ever need. You can create hundreds of looks with this palette, from smokey eyes to matte glam. There are shades to suit every skin tone and eye colour too. I’ll be uploading a tutorial using this palette, later this week.
I have swatched each of the shades, starting with the top row, down and from left to right.
The colour pay off from the majority of the shades in this palette is fantastic. I’m amazed at the high quality and high pigmentation for the price. As mentioned before, I will be uploading a tutorial using this palette later this week.
This palette has been out a few months now and I’m really late to the party on this one, but I just had to review it. I’ve been using it pretty much every day since I got it last week and I’ve been very happy with the final results every time.

Hey guys! Thanks for joining me for part 3 of my Primark Beauty Haul! You can find part 1 here and part 2 here. Today I’m going to be swatching and reviewing the PS… High Shine Lipstick Crayon in the shade Rose Quartz. This was actually one of the first products I picked up in store. They have some beautifully packaged rose gold items in the range at the moment and this one really stood out. I also thought it was about time I reviewed a lipstick that wasn’t matte!
Once again, this has a crayon style applicator and is a push up lipstick.
It’s quite a dark rose colour, which I like. When I think rose quartz though, I always think of something a lot lighter than this lipstick. It’s still very pretty though.
The lipstick glides on smoothly and is easy to apply with the crayon tip. I also found this product to be very moisturising and not clumpy on my lips. As I find with most shiny lipsticks, the staying power isn’t great, but I’ve not really come to expect it to be.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this lipstick. I love the colour, but won’t wear it very often. I do just prefer matte lips! I also find that lipstick transfers too much – and I have a lot of kisses to give Baby J!
