Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – June 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

So what’s in the box?

This month doesn’t really have a “theme” per se, however it does seem to be more focused on the idea of “summer  laid-back” vibes that come with the season. Less is more in Summer, I mean who wants to put on foundation, concealer and powder when its 30 degrees out? So there’s a big focus on nailing down a great skin care regime which as we all know is the base to feeling your best in the summer. We have a great box this month with 6 products to try out, including two full-sized.

So let’s have a look shall we?

The Hero Project Instant Moisture Boost

hyasoft-tube

This is a fabulous gel moisturizer for all my oily gals out there who are a little shy on the traditional moisturiser creams. The Hero Project is a British beauty brand which focuses its attention on those must have skin care products you can’t go without, which delivers both an amazing moisturiser and is packed with skin loving ingredients such as hylauronic acid and B5. This is best to add to the skin before your normal moisturiser to bring it back to life, which is especially good in the summer months where air conditioning and the warmer weather can dry out your skin.  The Hero Project is also cruelty free, and its packaging is all recyclable – woohoo!

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo.

thumbnail_Glo_Illuminator_large

Hhmmm.. Ok, I love highlight, y’all know that. Highlighter for me is my ultimate beauty must have and nothing makes me feel better than highlighting my cheekbones like a glazed donut. This however, isn’t glowy enough for me. It’s best mixed into your foundation for a dewy finish or to use as “glue” to keep your highlight popping, however on its own, not a fan. Its far too liquid for me and just disappears when your apply to the skin, so its more of an addition to my highlight routine than an actual highlight or glow in itself.  It does get bonus points for being cruelty free and comes in one universal shade for all skin types.

Batiste Stylist Frizz no more Frizz Tamer.

image

IMG_20170609_192521_923

So I got my hair cut last week and have been regretting it ever since – nothing to do with the hairdresser, she was the bomb, I just forgot how much more maintenance your hair needs when its cut short, and my hair is super fine and there is a lot of it, so it frizzes up like nobody’s business. This hair spray was a welcome treat for me, as it helps to keep the frizz at bay and helps keep my style resistant to humidity and it’s enriched with keratin which is always a good thing for my hair type! Batiste prides itself on being a crueltyfree personal brand that cares about the well-being of both humans and animals. Batiste Stylist is not suitable for Vegans as it uses Keratin, which is derived from sheep’s wool. No! Batiste doesn’t support testing on animals.

111Skin Space Defense Bright Eye lift Gel

Space-Defence-Bright-Eye-Lift-Gel-Bottle

This is one of the best eye products I have ever used. I have HUGE dark circles under my eyes regardless of the sleep I get, to the point I have considered getting fillers under my eyes. I have this in a full size from a christmas gift and I love it, it changed my life. It reduces puffiness, dark circles, reduces the appearance of lines (which at 30 I am starting to think about) and keeps your eye area super hydrated. Plus this skin care range evolved from products used in space, and I am all about that.

Sleek Makeup Power Plump Lip Crayon

Sleek-Power-Plump-Lip-Crayons-1

Ugh this lip colour is so darn perfect. It’s a gorgeous coral colour and glides on smoothly, is super pigmented and has super staying power. It wasnt until I put it on and my lips started to tingle I realised it was a lip plumping crayon – I thought I was having some sort of allergic reaction! But I love the effect of these lip plumping products – I have a slimmer top lip so its nice to balance it out a bit! Sleek are a brand I adore, and are cruelty free which I love. #crueltyfreekisses.

Beautypro Black Diamond peel off mask.

beautypro-peel-off-charcoal-mask-black-diamond

I have been wanting to try one of these peel off charcoal masks forever! This was the first product in this month’s box that I tried, and it was…..ok. I mean, don’t get me wrong as soon as I put it on, you could feel the active charcoal working and it was super satisfying peeling it off, but it didn’t seem to pull as much out of my face as I wanted. If anything it pulled off all my peach fuzz (not a bad thing) and my skin on the whole felt super smooth, but I can still see all my blackheads. Maybe that’s how they get you? Really loved it and I love a face mask, but it wasnt quite as good as I wanted. A big thumbs up for being cruelty free though!

So all in all, this month’s box was ok. It wasnt overwhelming, but there’s nothing in here I wouldn’t use. Everything in this box is once again cruelty free which I love, but I would have liked more make up products. However great skin care is the base for great skin confidence so all of these products are welcome in my bathroom.

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website www.glossybox.co.uk and sign up for 50% off the July Edit. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time, have a great summer!

Dollibox | May 2017

Dollibox is a beauty subscription box, delivered monthly. I received the May box and here’s what I got inside –

The box costs £10 a month, for five full-sized or deluxe sized products. The box gives you the opportunity to try well-known brands, up and coming niche brands and also cult classics. To subscribe for yourself, click here.

Here’s the low-down on May’s box.

Seacret Makeup Remover Wipes

I don’t tend to use makeup remover wipes because of their negative environmental impact, but like to have a pack in my drawer in case I need to have a quick clean up (great for late nights!). These wipes are absolutely brilliant at removing ALL of my makeup. They are oil-based so even take off my very stubborn waterproof mascaras with ease. They also leave my skin feeling beautifully soft. I’d never heard of this brand before this box, but I will be taking a look at their other products for sure!

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Protein Pack

Palmer’s are one of those brands that you can trust. I have owned quite a lot of their produts over the years and have always found them a failsafe in repairing damaged skin and hair. I haven’t used this hair conditoning pack yet as I’m saving it for an evening of pampering, but I’m sure it will do wonders for my currently very dry hair!

Cougar Rich Honey Moisturiser

I love this moisturiser! I started using it straight away, as the moisturiser I was using wasn’t doing anything special for my skin. This one contains pure natural honey and banana extract. I can’t stand the smell of bananas and thankfully, this cream doesn’t smell like them! It contains many vitamins and minerals and the honey is a natural antiseptic – great for helping to heal minor skin irritations and blemishes without drying you out. I highly recommend this product.

Leopard Cat Eyebrow Palette

The packaging for this is just perfect – gold and a leopard with leopard print details! It is a cute size too, perfect for on-the-go. Inside are two eyebrow powders and a mini angled brush for application.

Focallure Face Blush

I can’t stop wearing this blush! It is so pigmented and easy to blend out on the cheeks. The colour is gorgeous too and very buildable. There are 11 shades available in this range of blushes and I received the pinky coral one. It gives my face a lovely, Spring-time glow which I’m just addicted to.

Deborella Mermaid Necklace

Last, but not least, is this AMAZING ‘Mermaid Life’ necklace from Deborella Accessories. This was an exclusive product in Dollibox this month. Deborella are a new company who produce mainly lasercut jewellery and stationery. Make sure to have a look at their website – there are just so many beautiful products to choose from, I want it all!

I am very impressed with Dollibox and have enjoyed trying out the products and reviewing them for you. To subscribe for yourself, click here.

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – May 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

So what’s in the box?

This month we are going back to basics and GlossyHQ has cultivated a box which focused on the beauty staples we love and the ones we didn’t know we loved. Everyone has those beauty must haves that you can’t do without – for me, that would be a good body salt scrub and a kick ass concealer – and they’re the ones that just call to you.

With this in mind, GB focused their attention on ensuring we received an edit of five basics that everyone should own, namely because once you’ve got those sorted, everything else will follow effortlessly. It like building a house – once you have good foundations in place, everything else just fits.
So without further ado, here’s a peek inside the box…

Dr Pawpaw Balm – Original

IMAG1070

I adore multi purpose balms like these. It’s a one fits all balm which you can use for anything:

  • Flyaway hairs – PawPaw balm
  • Dry skin – PawPaw balm
  • Chapped Lips – Pawpaw balm
  • Cracked hands and heels – Pawpaw balm
  • Broken Heart – Pawpaw Balm (you get the idea)

Its derived from gorgeous natural ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Papaya and olive oil. It’s a really lovely non-sticky formula that melts into the skin – a handbag must have if you ask me. Plus it is cruelty free. YAY FOR BUNNIES!

Caudalie Vinosorce Moisturising Sorbet

IMAG1071

I really love Caudalie, they’re a great brand whose moisturizers are great on my skin. This sorbet is no exception. It’s a lovely gel moisturizer which is great for oily combination skin like mine and is packed full of skin soothing ingredients like chamomile and grape water. Super lightweight but very moisturizing, a great addition to my spring time routine.  My only issue with this product is it isn’t cruelty free. Sad Face.

Scrub Love Active Charcoal Body Scrub

IMAG1074

A word of warning with this one – don’t use it in a freshly cleaned bathroom as you’ll need to clean every surface it touches afterwards!

I love body scrubs. nothing feels better to me than getting a handful of super gritty scrub and rubbing into my tired skin, it just makes me feel so much more refreshed and revitalized, and this is no exception. This scrub is formulated with Aloe Vera oils, Clays and active charcoal to cleanse and soothe the skin and leave you feeling gorgeously polished and clean! We got a huge pouch of the stuff too, so plenty to go around. A Huge win for me and probably my favorite product in this box.  An organic, fair trade, Rain forest-Alliance Approved, cruelty free ethically sourced coffee-scrub skin care company proudly made in the UK – HUZZAH!

Andmetics Brow Wax Strips

IMAG1069

I am not a huge fan of these personally, mainly because I’ve had some bad experiences in the past where I’ve ended up taking off more brow than I realized, (can we all take a moment and thank the beauty goddesses for brow pencils, pomade and gel) or the strips haven’t taken any hairs at all. These however were so easy to use, had real sticky power and are shaped to fit my brows (almost) perfectly, I did trim them slightly to ensure a better fit. My brow game for May is super strong now. I couldn’t find any information about the company being cruelty free so I suspect not.

RUBY Super Silky Powder Blush

This was a welcome addition for me as I adore coral blushes, and I already own a couple of RUBY blushes. This color went so well with my snow-white complexion, and I suspect will look even better with a tan – which by the looks of the weather at the moment isn’t going to be any time soon! A gorgeous consistency and huge color payoff, so you only need a little on your brush to give your cheeks that lil *pop* of co lour.  Another cruelty free brand too – yippee!

I am really happy with this month’s box. Another great edit full of things I will definitely use over the next few weeks – especially the scrub and the blusher. I’ll probably buy more scrub too because it made my skin feel so incredibly smooth and silky – not that these pins are going to see the light of day any time soon – ah the great british weather. Theres nothing in here I wouldn’t use, however unlike last month this box isn’t 100% cruelty free.

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website www.glossybox.co.uk and sign up for 50% off the May Edit. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time, have an aMAYzing month!

The Vegan Kind Beauty Box Unboxing – May 2017

Welcome to the May unboxing of  The Vegan Kind Beauty Box! This is a quarterly beauty box with high quality, well-chosen vegan friendly beauty products. Each box costs £15 plus P+P. I am a huge fan of this subscription box and really look forward to its arrival. Here’s a low down of this quarter’s products.

Maggie Anne Strawberry and Grape Nail Varnish Remover – RRP £8.95

I have received a Maggie Anne nail polish in a previous box and I loved the colour and finish. I’m looking forward to trying this polish remover – especially as the strawberry and grape scent sounds delicious! It is acetone free and enriched with argon oil and vitamin E.

Zerreau Waterless Towel Off Shampoo – RRP £3.99

This is a coconut scented, innovative alternative to your usual dry shampoo. Apply the foam to parted hair roots and massage in to lift and grease or dirt and then remove by towel drying your hair. The dirt lifted from your hair is removed by the towel! I’ll keep you updated with this product on my Instagram, because I haven’t tried it yet.

Amie New Leaf Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish – RRP Full Size £5.95

I have tried a few Amie products in the past and I really like their gentle formulas and the way they leave my skin feeling very soft. I gave this scrub a go and although it didn’t feel as ‘deep pore’ cleansing as it stated, it did leave my skin feeling nice. I have used better vegan scrubs in the past and this isn’t completely terrible, it just didn’t blow me away.

Aqua Esse Equilibrium B12 Infused Pure Alkaline Natural Spring Water – RRP £1.95

This bottle of water is just fascinatingly gorgeous! It is tinted pink, but has nothing unnatural in it and it just tasted like regular spring water! Mind. Blown. This water is perfect for vegetarians and vegans alike as it provides the B12 your body needs. I really enjoyed this water and felt quickly hydrated afterwards.

PHB Ethical Beauty Natural Black Mascara – RRP £15.95

So incredibly, this mascara has an RRP of more than the box costs itself! I have to say, this is one brilliant little mascara. It takes a lot to impress me in the world of mascaras, so many have tried and failed to plump up and lengthen my extremely short lashes. This brilliant little mascara added so much length to my lashes even after just one coat! I was so impressed!

The mascara also has a nice little applicator – something I prefer to a big brush which gets mascara all over my eyelids!

One coat applied to one eye
One coat applied to both eyes
Two coats after a few hours

To really put this mascara to the test, I also went for a run with it on and it stayed put!

This mascara is actually award winning. It is also water resistant and good for those with sensitive eyes. It also contains botanical oils to care for and naturally lengthen your lashes over time. I love it!

To subscribe to The Vegan Kind Beauty Box, click here. They also do a monthly food subscription box, you can find it here.

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – April 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

So what’s in the box?

April is here, the sun is shining, which means we want to maximize our sunshine time to get that Vitamin D on. This month’s box is dedicated to the woman on the go who just has zero time to waste and wants to get out there (or if you’re like me, hits snooze 3 times most mornings for bonus sleep).

Filled with multi-tasking beauty heroes that every girl-on-the-go should own, it’ll help make your life a little easier this month. From makeup that’s easy to apply in-transit to on-trend hair essentials that’ll instantly cut down your getting ready time. If you’re an active on-the-go gym goer like me, or just someone who likes to cut down the minutes on their beauty regime, this box is great for you.

IMAG0826

Also I want to give this box a huge enormous thumbs us as all the products in this box are from cruelty free brands – yay for #beautywithoutbunnies

With this in mind, let’s have a lil look shall we?

Modelco Contour Stick

IMAG0832

Model Co is a well established brand in my make up collection and I own a few of their nail polishes too. They have really cute packaging and a huge product range which is all cruelty free – yay! I’m not crazy for contouring and definitely don’t do it at 6.30am when I’m getting ready for work, however this stick is easy to apply, easy to blend and looks very natural.  The formula is so creamy and lightweight and smells delish, a really coconutty scent which I love – I’m all about that coconut oil life. I don’t know if this product was a one shade fits all job, as it did look very orange on me to start with, however once I blended it out and used a little (and I mean A LITTLE) bronzer it looked good. Still not a huge fan of contouring. Maybe I just need practice? Maybe not at 6.30am though.

Merci Handy Hand sanitizer

IMAG0828

Not sure how hand sanitizer fit as a beauty product, however this was definitely a welcome product to me as I needed a new one. I got a cherry scented bottle, and it does not smell of cherry. It doesn’t really smell of anything, which is good, because I hate that chemically smell from most hand sanitizers, but my nose was all set for cherry. The best thing about this product is it doesn’t dry out your hands into nothingness like most other gels do, owing to their high alcohol content. This one is enriched with vitamin E and leaves your hands clean and feeling soft. I just wish the scent was there! A great handbag staple, and the most adorable website with the best instructions for hand sanitizer ever:

1) Squeeze out a small amount of gel,

2) Pretend you’ve just won the lottery,

3) Rub your hands together with glee for 30 seconds.

Rodial Glamolash Mascara

imag0829.jpg

This is the 5th mascara I’ve had from Glossybox and it’s probably the most underwhelming one I’ve had. It is packed with promise to give you fuller and longer lashes, however it took at least 4 coats of mascara to get any sort of length and zero volume. A nice mascara for an every day look which is what this box is about, it just oversells itself and then under performs. It is packed with natural ingredients to help condition and protect your lashes and to stop the product clumping both on your lashes and in the bottle, and don’t get me wrong, it’s a great every day product, I just wasn’t wowed as much as some of the other ones I’ve had from GB.

SportsFX Doubletime Face Brush

imag0831.jpg

I do love a good make up brush and GB always do well in their brush offerings from brands and this is another hit for me. A versatile double ended brush for both liquid foundations and powders, it has beautiful soft fibers which boast antibacterial properties, which pick up and distribute the product well without clinging onto loads on the brush, and it doesn’t leave your liquid foundation all streaky. I also love the brand which has curated make up products and brushes to go alongside its active-wear – a 360 brand for the woman who loves to sweat. Check out the website and see for yourself!

Elgon Deliwash Clensing Conditioner

imag0827.jpg

Now, readers on my blog will know I’m a Redken obsessive so it’s always hard for me to try out new hair products without judging them. This beautifully scented cleansing conditioner is right up my street. A great product to use post gym between regular washes, I’m a big fan of cleansing conditioners. They add moisture and softness back into your hair without the need for shampoo, and because it is sulfate, paraben and salt free your hair is left smooth and clean and soft. It’s a great alternative to regular washing if you’re an active gal like me, because all that shampooing can take away the natural oils in your hair which just makes it more dry and frizzy. I really like this product and will definitely use it when I go to the gym or for a long run, but nothing will ever tear me away from my Redken Extreme.

I am really happy with this month’s box. Everything was great and will get used – even the mascara 😉 I think GB really did themselves proud this month and I can’t wait to get the first of the summer boxes next month – yay for sunshine!

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website www.glossybox.co.uk and sign up for 20% off and a free Nip and Fab moisturizer in your first box.  There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?

Until next time, have a great Easter weekend,

Boxie – Unboxing a *NEW* Subscription Box

1st May 2017 will see the launch of a new and exciting subscription box called Boxie. I was very excited to be sent the box early in order to unbox it for you guys. So let’s get started!

20170401_102927

These Boxie boxes are aimed at teenagers (and tweenagers – which I still was when I received this!) and are full of goodies any girl would love. The products change every month and include goodies such as – fashion items, cosmetics and toiletries, accessories, stationery, jewellery, lifestyle products, confectionery and more!

20170401_102958

This month’s box contained some pretty impressive items – full sized cosmetics and cute gifts and accessories. The value of all the items in the box comes to £47.50 and the box itself costs £19.95 (plus P+P) to purchase. If you sign up for multiple months worth of boxes, they do work out cheaper. You’ll also only have to pay P+P on your first box with a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription.

* Keep reading for a unique 15% off code*

Let’s get stuck into all the goodies – I know you’re dying to see!

w7 Beat It! Natural Nudes Eye Colour Palette RRP £9.99

I was pretty gobsmacked to find such a beautiful, full sized eyeshadow palette in this box. It is absolutely stunning and perfect for all skin tones too. Excellent for girls just getting into makeup as it also comes with a double ended makeup application brush and sponge. This palette will cost you £9.99 in shops – so to receive it in a subscription box that costs only £19.95 is pretty good going!

Saffron Natural False Eyelashes RRP £2.99

I know that as a teenager (and I’m sure my sister will also agree) I would have absolutely loved these false eyelashes. They’re super easy to apply and add volume to your natural lashes without looking OTT. I really used to struggle to apply lashes when I was younger – and even now – because they were always too big and bulky for my untrained eyelashes. These are pretty fool-proof and come with a good glue to hold them in place all day.

Sass & Belle Friends… Items

These are lovely items to display in your bedroom or share with your bestie. I love Sass & Belle trinkets and these are no exception to that. You will receive –

  • Sass & Belle Best Friends Postcard RRP £1.00
  • Sass & Belle Friends Heart Decoration RRP £2.00
  • Sass & Belle Friends Trinket Dish RRP £3.00

Tinc Cloud Keyring and Phone Sock

This cloud keyring from Tinc is just ADORABLE! It RRPs at £4.95. It has a white patch on the back, which acts as a name tag – handy for school bags or locker keys! I have been using the phone sock (RRP £4.95) every time I go out. It has a handy clip on it and also a detachable neck strap. I have clipped it inside my handbag, so I know my phone is always attached to me and safe. This phone sock also does a great job of protecting your screen from scratches and dirt. You can also store your iPod in there!

A Selection of Cosmetics

As you know, makeup is my passion so I was especially excited to see so many makeup items inside the box!

  • Tanya Burr for Eye Candy Lip Gloss RRP £5.99
  • Royal Lashed Out Felt Tip Eyeliner Pen RRP £3.99
  • Covershoot Mascara RRP £3.00
  • w7 King Kohl Eyeliner Pencil RRP £3.00

Royal Lashed Out Eyelash Curlers RRP £4.99

I have always had a bit of a phobia of eyelash curlers – I’m sure at least one of you will understand this irrational fear? I have never owned a decent pair to be honest until I tried these ones. They are so gentle and easy to use! They have spring handles which makes them easy to control. They also gave my very straight eyelashes a decent curl which, together with my mascara, really made my eyes pop. I love them!

Isn’t this just a brilliant subscription box? I’m so impressed with the contents and know that a lot of hard-work and deep thought has gone into the selection of contents. I know my teenage self would have loved this box and I would have really enjoyed playing and experimenting with the items inside. I enjoyed it at 29 years old!

To order your own Boxie box or subscription, visit the website here. To get a bonus 15% off your first box use the code Kerry15 at the checkout.

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – March 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

 What’s in the Box?

With spring fast approaching (get ready to move your clocks forward an hour on March 26th), this month’s box has been designed to get you ready for the upcoming seasonal change. I am so ready for spring!

From the most soothing of skincare designed to prep your complexion to one of four Sleek palettes that’s sure to perfect your finished look, you’re in for a treat when it comes to the March box. So let’s jump in!

IMAG0593 (1)

Just look how beautiful this all is! Lets take a closer look at this months edit.

oOlution Eye Love Under eye De-puffer

imag0598-1.jpg

I love a decent under eye depuffer, as a long time sufferer of dark circles, regardless of how much sleep I try to get they are always there, staring me in the face. This nifty little tube is  packed to the brim with detoxifying and de-puffing ingredients which help reduce dark circles and bags. By stimulating collagen synthesis, it also helps reduce wrinkles that start forming around the eyes. With its moisturising and lifting actions it prevents the transformation of lines due to dehydration into more profound wrinkles. Add to the fact is is a beautifully light consistency, its instant cooling qualities leave you feeling less dragged-though-a-hedge-backwards and more spring chicken. Plus, it’s a cruelty free brand, so that makes it even better IMHO.

Sleek Makeup Eye & Cheek Palette in Dawn ‘Til Dusk

IMAG0594 (1)IMAG0595 (1)

I’ve been a huge fan of Sleek cosmetics for a long time, so this was a massive bonus for me. Plus, what make up addict doesn’t love another palette!? This month Glossies were given the option to pre-select one of four palettes. I went for this one because being fair skinned, the colours best suited my complexion. With four eye shadows and two blushes, Dancing Till Dusk includes velvety browns and shimmering fawns from the best selling Au Naturel i-Divine palette. With radiant Blush shades Mirrored Pink, an iridescent soft pink and Sahara, a matte, dark coral, for a sophisticated finish. A Huge hit for me which I have been wearing all week!

P.S – Sleek are a cruelty free brand who do not test their products of ingredients on animals. Woo-hoo!

This Works in transit camera close-up Primer

IMAG0597 (1)

So wait, a primer, a mask, and a moisturiser all in one?

Wait what?

I’m not convinced that this is a mask if I’m honest, but as a primer/moisturiser combo, this really does work. It keeps my make up on all day, doesn’t dry out my skin or enhance my oily areas, and if its good enough for Mrs Beckham, then its good enough for me. It also smells dreeeeamy, which helps when its 7.30am and you’re trying to get ready for the day ahead.

As their website says:

“This high-performance Superblend features Bio Boost – a unique blend of anti-oxidant plant oils- to rebuild and protect the skin barrier, along with hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and Caffeine to re-balance and revitalise.”

Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow Hand Therapy

IMAG0596 (1)

This was the only disappointment for me this month. I’ve already had one in a box previously and although it smells dreamy and you do get a generous amount in the tube, I can’t use C&E because it reacts badly to my skin! I contacted Glossybox and explained this, and they are sending me a replacement product – I’ll update this post when I’ve received this.

On the plus, like I said, this is a gorgeous smelling spring time inspired hand cream, it’s lightweight, and absorbs into the skin quickly meaning you don’t have slippery hands for ages after!

Skinfix Inc. Foaming Oil Cleanser

IMAG0599 (2)

Next to the Sleek palette, this is my favourite product this month. I absolutely love how well this product removed every single scrap of make up on my face, it didn’t dry it out and left it feeling clean, smooth and just gorgeous! Infused with Jojoba oil, Red Seaweed extract and Healthy Skin Lipid Complex™, this product leaves your skin feeling beautiful and clean and ready for your moisturising routine. Plus a little really does go a long way with this, you only need a pea sized amount and it foams into more than enough. Plus they are another cruelty free company, so a huge thumbs up.

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great Mother’s day gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself?

The Vegan Kind Beauty Box Unboxing – February 2017

Welcome to the February The Vegan Kind Beauty Box Unboxing! I actually squealed in excitement when pulling these items from the box and here’s the lowdown as to why.

Your Tea ‘Tea Face’ Healing Hydration Scrub (RRP £17.95)

OK, so this product got the biggest scream from me! It is a massive product and the RRP is actually pretty much the same as the price of the whole subscription box!

Tea Face is a mix of tea granules with essential oils, such as jojoba, rosehip and patchouli. It is also scented with ylang ylang which smells amazing.

I tried it out this afternoon as my skin has been quite dry. I’ve not been drinking enough water the last few days and I’m really feeling it! This scrub really put some moisture back into my skin. To use it you have to firstly cleanse your skin, then smear a teaspoon full of the scrub over your face. You then rub it in in circular motions with your fingertips. You then leave it on your face anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. When ready to remove, use a warm, damp cloth to gently wipe it from your face.
Spectrum Collections Unicorn Tears Wonder Sponge (RRP £4.99)

Oh how I love it when The Vegan Kind kind provide a beauty tool from Spectrum Collections! They are my favourite place for makeup brushes and this sponge is brilliant. I’ve owned one before, so I was so happy to receive a replacement one today.

These beauty sponges are latex free and of course vegan. It can be used to apply foundation, setting powder to the T-Zone or any other liquid or powder makeup!
PHB Ethical Beauty 100% Organic Apricot Lip Gloss (RRP £12.95)

This lip gloss is a nude colour with a hint of shimmer. I really can’t stand lip gloss normally as my hair sticks in it,  I find it slimy and I just generally hate the texture and feel of it! However, this little lip gloss may have changed my mind. It isn’t sticky at all! I also adore the golden shimmer that it has.

I’m going to wear it over lipstick on my Valentine’s date tonight as I think it will just add a touch of subtle prettiness to my look. This gloss also moisturises your lips as it contains shea butter and jojoba oil.
Grounded Edible Mango Lip Scrub (RRP £4.95)

Another awesome and extremely useful product for me. I love a lip scrub and the fact I can eat this one is even better! It smells beautiful and gets me thinking about the summer.

This scrub has lots of goodies inside to keep your lips smooth and moisturised. You just apply, rub and then lick it off! It has coconut oil in it and jojoba oil as well as Mango flavouring. I just love it!

Noughty Hair Care Intensive Care Leave-in Conditioner (RRP £6.99)

This is by a newly launched haircare range called Noughty. This product is especially effective on dry, frizzy or damaged hair with split ends. It contains shea butter and argan oil which will smooth the hair. It is free from silicones, sulphates, parabens and petrochemicals. No water required – It’s a little hair miracle worker!

Once again, The Vegan Kind Beauty Box didn’t disappoint. I always really look forward to receiving this box as the products are carefully selected and I know that the ingredients are kind to nature and animals. If you’d like to subscribe to The Vegan Kind Beauty Box, then click here.

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing – February 2017

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing post here.

What’s in the Box?

It’s February, and love is in the air. Glossybox is no exception to the Valentine’s rule and this month’s box is full of beautiful products to pamper yourself with for your date night. Whether it be with your husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, or mate night with your squad, this box has got you covered. Glossies had an extra special treat this month with a chance to win the ultimate girls night in package. For your chance to win head on over to www.glossylove.co.uk to enter!

So, without further ado, let’s dive into this month’s box. Extra love and kudos for the gorgeous packaging this month, I always end up keeping the special edition boxes. Note to self… find out what I can use 18 glossy boxes for.

A gorgeous lil package if I do say so myself!

Garnier Ultimate Blends Honey Treasures Strength Restoring Balm

So if you’ve read my previous entries you know my hair has been treated pretty badly in the past. Since my high school days, which started over(!) 15 years ago, it has been straightened, blow dried, dyed, bleached to high heaven, not always treated with heat protection, it’s been every colour on the wheel, from black to blonde (and every unsightly shade in between) to red, which I’ve been rocking for a while now. This year I’ve gone to a darker, richer cherry red, as opposed to pillar box red. It’s been ravaged by heat styling, and treated pretty badly and becuase I run and go to the gym/swim 5 times a week, it gets a lot of sweat, chlorine and weather stress. Basically, I have every hairdresser’s worstnightmare on my head. In the last year however, I’ve been using Redken products to calm the frizz and add some nourishment back into it, and it’s getting there, slowly. This treatment isn’t really something I would normally use, however, I’m always willing to try new products. This product claims to leave your hair nourished and glossy with the help of honey. You get quite a good amount of coverage from this little pouch. Apply after shampooing to the lengths and ends of your hair, and leave on for up to 5 minutes.

Pros – Smells heavenly, doesn’t leave any residue

Cons – My hair did not feel nourished or glossy. Maybe its just my hair type. I’ll stick with my Redken extreme.

Ciate London Paint Pot in Iced Frappe

imag0413

Ugh I love nude nails. especially in winter. There’s nothing nicer than a good manicure and nail treatment, followed by a gorgeous colour. This beautiful shade will compliment any skin tone, and the best thing about Ciate (other than the super cute paint pot advent calendar they do) is that this nail polish has real staying power. Go to the gym, do the dishes, and a full day at work, and this stuff will still be there for you. I always recommend using a base and top coat with any polish to get the best wear out of your colour.

MeMeMe Beat the Blues Illuminator in Oyster Gold.

I love highlighter. I’m the girl who has cheekbones highlighted like a glazed donut. I want to blind people with my highlight, no, I want it to be seen from space.

You get my drift. This is a winner for me. I love this stuff. I mixed this in with my foundation and it just gives your skin a beautiful glow, nothing too out there, but enough to put some colour back into your skin, especially in these horrid cold and miserable winter months. For extra glow, dot this along the top of your cheek bones, your nose and your cupids bow, and add your favorite highlighter powder on top for extra glow.

Mememe is a cruelty free makeup brand who do not test any products on animals, nor do their third-party ingredients. Extra bonus points.

La Theorie des Volcans Noir Eternae Youth Potion Scrub

imag0414

A scrub that can be used as a mask? Yes Please! I love to indulge in a face mask twice a week, so I was so excited to try this one out. It starts out a pinkish tone, and as it works on removing impurities, dead skin cells and all the other gunk in your skin it turns grey. It is enriched with natural ingredients which have anti-aging properties (which at 30 I am now thinking about more) and leaves your skin feeling beautifully clean and cleansed. Another cruelty free brand, this product is paraben, silicone free, vegan, and has 90% natural ingredients! I absolutely love this mask/scrub and remember to use gentle circular motions when scrubbing, no harsh sloughing away at your face – be gentle on your little cheekies!

Jeanne Arthes L’Eau de Rose

imag0412

While some rose scented perfumes can smell a little, well, old-ladies-scented-underwear-drawer-esque, this perfume is heavenly. It has a beautiful light and crisp rose scent and lasts for hours. Curated by Jeanne Arthes, who has worked with master perfumers at the centre of the perfume world, this heavenly scent will work wonders on your date night or mate night. A perfect winter to spring scent.

So that’s it from me for another box with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great Valentine’s or Mother’s day gift, why not give the gift of Glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself ?

Guest Post – Glossybox Unboxing December 2016

Hello my lovelies!

In this series, I will be sharing with you the gorgeous goodies from my Glossybox subscription boxes, with my honest opinion of the products received. If you want to know what Glossybox is all about, you can read my last unboxing blog here.

What’s in the Box?

So this month, subscribers had a choice between either a Sugar or Spice box – I went with Spice. We got extra special treats this month based around which look we wanted to achieve most this festive season, with either a nude or a plum lipstick from MDM Flow. We got 5 beauty treats, 4 which were full-sized. So without further ado, let’s take a peek!

Kapow! Look at all that gorgeousness! Let’s dive in!

Revlon Nail Enamel

Everyone loves a good nail polish, and this month’s bang on trend plum red enamel named Valentine did not disappoint! My favorite nail polishes in order are Sally Hansen, Revlon, and Barry M. The Revlon colours deliver gorgeous smooth, chip-resistant colour to nails. With ShadeLock™ Technology for fade-resistant wear. Mine lasted on my nails without a top coat for 9 days without chipping, which is pretty impressive, considering it went through 3 runs, 4 gym sessions, 2 swimming sessions, and all the usual wear and tear doing a 9-5 office job. A big hit, and a colour I will definitely use again, and again, and again, and well you get the picture.

Collection Cosmetics Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder

Now, I have a confession to make, I have terrible eyebrows. Yes, I put my hands up and admit it. I neglected them in high school, I plucked them to oblivion, and I’ve been paying for it ever since. Why oh why didn’t I listen to my mum and just leave them alone?! Thankfully, we now have loads of options for filling in and defining our brows these days, however badly we have treated them in the past. I am a huge fan of the fuller brow, so products like these, are great if you are on a budget (and got talked into spending £40 on face cream in Boots and have zero money left). The loose powder formula containing fibre particles to add volume to the brows. I especially love the fine-tipped sponge applicator for a precise application. An absolute must have for those of us who need to put a little ka-pow back into our brows!

1. Using the applicator, brush delicately over areas which need filling in and volumising
2. Use fine brush strokes to create natural-looking hairs on the brows
3. Set the brows in place with a clear brow gel of your choice!

essence light up your face luminizer palette

Ugh. I love me a good highlighter. You know what it ever better than a gorgeous matte highlighter? A trio of matte and shimmer highlighters in my glossybox!

This pallette comes with three highlight shades to help you achieve a flawless sun-kissed glow in the cold December months. You can apply them individually, or in combination on the cheekbones, bridge of the nose or below the lips, these three highlighter powders with light-reflecting pigments accentuate the features with a light pearl, shimmer or golden glow finish.Even better, Essence are a cruelty free brand, and easy on the purse strings! I did try to swatch these, but the camera does the end result no justice. Less glowing like a glazed donut (which is a look I also love, highlighter is my thing), more a subtle healthy glow.

Lipcote Lipstick Sealer

Before there was 1,000 shades of matte liquid lipsticks, Lipcote was the number one lip insurance. I have kept it in my (one of far too many) make up bags, because it’s a tried, trusted and favorite secret weapons, and unlike may liquid lipsticks, it doesn’t dry out your pout. The essential lipstick accessory; transparent, quick drying Lipcote is specially formulated with natural extracts to stop your lipstick feathering, fading or transferring. I tried it out with my favorite red lipsticks one day and I only needed to top up once at around 3pm, and it lasted through a lunch time run! In comparison, I find that although my Lime Crime Velvetines matte lips need to be touched up a couple of times through the day. It’s so easy to use – apply your lipstick, blot and then apply. The tingling is totally normal. (note, the tingling only lasts about 10 seconds, if you find it lasts any longer, or your lips start to swell or go numb, seek medical advice) I absolutely would recommend Lipcote throughout the year, not just for party season. Weddings, girl’s nights out, evening dos, and those days when you want to rock a bad ass lippie but you don’t want to worry about it fading. Lipcote is for life, not just December!

MDMflow Lipstick

And here we are, the main event of the box this month. Meet my new beautiful MDMFlow lipstick, in the shade Vamp. I love this lipstick. Its matte, which is my favorite finish, it has a creamy butter-like consistency, and has some impressive staying power, with or without lipcote. The only negative I had is that I needed 2 coats of the stuff to get my desired shade of vampy plumyness. But all in all, it compliments my snow-white complexion, it stays on for hours. top marks. The packaging is gorgeous, it’s cruelty free kisses, and contains the best natural ingredients for your lips.

So that’s it from me for another box and another year with Glossybox! If you are looking for a great Christmas gift, why not give the gift of glossy? You can gift a 1,3,6, or 12 month subscription, or maybe just treat yourself ?

If you want to try out Glossybox for yourself, head over to the website www.glossybox.co.uk and sign up. There’s no minimum commitment, and you can cancel at any time. Besides, who doesn’t love a little treat every month?
